Twenty-four hours until my first BlogHer convention!! I can’t wait to connect with such an interesting variety of women. I’ve been reading over the agenda and it looks like a jam-packed time of fun, info and networking.
It’s been years since I have been in San Diego. I ‘m looking forward to seeing the city again, absorbing some SoCal sun and eating some fish tacos! Earlier in my career I spent a lot of time in San Diego consulting. It was a sweet gig, cooking all day, hanging out at the beach when I could and trying my hand at surfing (btw… failed miserably, I’ll stick to canoeing and kayaking).
I have enjoyed reading the blogs posted about the convention. I’d like to give a shout out to Heather Clisby for the heads up in her blog about what to expect at BlogHer. A particular thank you on the bit about attire. Being a chef, I am always in pants and a chef coat of T shirt, nothing fancy. So, bringing dresses for the evening events had not even crossed my mind! I’ll be easy to spot at the show, strategically located by food in a chef coat (with the Sabra logo on it) or wearing my black polka dot dress in the evening!
Sabra and Stacy’s will be sponsoring the snack break on Saturday. We are serving a “build your own” Mediterranean Nacho Bar. Assorted Stacy’s pita chips topped with your choice of Sabra hummus (Roasted Red Pepper, Classic or Basil Pesto) and our new Greek style yogurt dips and all sorts of Mediterranean vegetables. BlogHer isn’t a place to be shy and neither is our snack bar! Pile it on and give it a try!
And speaking of giving it a try… I selected this recipe to post because it is super simple and a party animal. I call it the Hummus Oasis, and it is a party in a glass! I look forward to swapping recipes for blogging tips at the convention. See you soon.
