Pedro Padierna
Pedro Padierna is president, PepsiCo Mexico. PepsiCo owns the world's largest portfolio of billion-dollar food and beverage brands, including 19 different product lines, each of which generates more than $1 billion in annual retail sales each. PepsiCo's main businesses – Quaker, Tropicana, Gatorade, Frito-Lay, and Pepsi Cola – also make hundreds of other enjoyable and wholesome foods and beverages that are respected household names throughout the world. With net revenues of approximately $60 billion, PepsiCo employs nearly 300,000 people worldwide.
Padierna assumed this role in August 2011, and is responsible for PepsiCo Mexico’s Foods (Sabritas, Gamesa-Quaker, Sonric’s) and Beverages (Pepsi, Gatorade) businesses. He is also the company’s lead contact with the country’s government and other external stakeholders, and oversees PepsiCo’s global Potato Center of Excellence. Padierna also chairs the Mexico Council, created after his current role appointment, which is formed by leaders of the company’s Foods and Beverages businesses.
Padierna began his PepsiCo career in 1987 at Sabritas as vice president, Marketing and Research & Development, and has held several positions since, including vice president, Commercial, Mexico; vice president, National Sales; president, Sabritas/CariCam, PepsiCo Americas Foods; and most recently president, PepsiCo Foods Mexico, Central America & Caribbean. In his years of service with the company, Padierna has served as a PepsiCo ambassador in Mexico, developing strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government, customers, media and nongovernmental organizations. He is also the president and founder of the Sabritas Foundation.
Before joining PepsiCo, Padierna worked for the Mexican Ministry of Tourism, Banamex (Citibank Mexico) and Proctor & Gamble.
